Introduction to the role
Most people in the UK want to see high standards of honesty in public debate - from politicians, from the media, and online.
We also know millions of people believe they can do something about it. Full Fact is looking for an experienced digital campaigner to help mobilise this audience.
We’re a team of independent fact checkers and campaigners who fight bad information. We work with thousands of people across the UK to spot and tackle the spread of false, dangerous claims - and hold those responsible to account.
This year, with a UK general election on the horizon, we need to grow this support to effectively demand the standards we all deserve.
We’re looking for an expert in digital campaigns who, in 12 months, can transform Full Fact’s approach to online mobilisation.
You’ll put involving individual supporters and digital action at the heart of Full Fact’s work, which already attracts national media attention and millions of readers.
You’ll design opportunities and actions to energise tens of thousands of existing Full Fact supporters, inspire many thousands more who believe in our mission, and make a difference to the information environment in the UK.
You’ll bring an in-depth understanding of digital campaigning, email marketing and social media to maximise the impact of our wider team’s work, and design a programme of activation opportunities that will substantially grow Full Fact’s supporter base in the next 12 months.
Alongside this, you will develop a calendar of communications that keeps our supporters engaged - including donating to support Full Fact’s work.
You’ll plan upcoming campaigns and actions alongside specialists in policy, advocacy, press and media, and our team of fact checkers, using a deep understanding of data and analytics to evaluate and shape our work.
You will support this team to improve its own understanding of effective digital campaigning, setting Full Fact up for success into the next election and beyond.
Full Fact fights for honesty in political debate, but is independent and impartial. You’ll bring in-depth understanding of the UK political news landscape, supporting efforts to build Full Fact’s profile and supporter base ahead of the next general election.
You’ll thrive in a fast-paced environment, able to plan long-term campaigns and spot reactive opportunities.
This is an exciting time to join Full Fact. You’ll be working as part of a successful communications team alongside specialists in PR, brand and social media. We’re looking for someone who shares our ambitions and pushes us even further.
Our reputation matters. As well as looking to build and reinforce it, you’ll be personally committed to Full Fact’s standards as an independent, impartial charity.
This is a fixed term 12 month contract.
If you are interested in applying but not sure you have all the skills, please do apply. We are open both to supporting learning on the job and to rearranging tasks within the team to suit the skillsets of the best applicant
