Location
Remote first within the UK. We work primarily from home but also have an office available in Central London for monthly in-person meetings with your team and quarterly all team meetings. You would also be expected to travel to the office to film content. You can expect to travel to the office at least 2 - 3 times per month.

Introduction to the role
Full Fact is a team of independent fact checkers and campaigners who find, expose and counter the harm of bad information. We are seeking a talented and creative Video Producer to join our dynamic team.
Reporting to the Social Media Manager, you will play a pivotal role in bringing the work of Full Fact to life through compelling and impactful video content for our website and social media channels. Your work will amplify the reach of our fact checks, engage younger audiences, provide audiences with better information and play a pivotal role in our efforts to combat misinformation.
In this role, you will lead the production of video content, from conception to publication, transforming complex topics and detailed fact checks into engaging narratives that resonate with younger audiences.

What we are looking for from you
Playing a lead key role in the creative development of Full Fact’s video content, collaborating with relevant colleagues from across the organisation to help to inform and engage a broad target audience and bring our work to life.
Working closely with the editorial fact checking teams to identify key topics and themes for video content
Transforming detailed written fact checks into compelling video narratives that are clear and digestible for diverse online audiences, whilst maintaining factual accuracy
Optimising video content for a variety of social media platforms (including Instagram, TikTok and Youtube), considering platform-specific requirements and audience behaviour
Working with the Social Media Manager and the Head of Communications and Policy to define and refine Full Fact’s video strategy
Continually monitoring, evaluating performance metrics and making recommendations for our future video content to ensure we are continually learning and improving our outputs
Job skills/competencies
You are committed to the political neutrality of our work and have a good understanding of impartiality (please see the rules on our website)
Understanding of public debate in the UK and sensitivity to the political context we work in
A proven track record of presenting complex information and ideas creatively and efficiently using video
Strong storytelling skills, with the ability to distill complex topics into accessible and engaging narratives
Experience creating video content for social media accounts
Strong understanding of social media platforms and their video requirements
Proficiency with video editing software (eg, Adobe Premiere Pro)
An understanding of legal aspects of video production including sourcing, copyright and obtaining consent
Experience of creating animation and motion graphics (particularly using Adobe After Effects) desirable but not essential
Experience in evaluating video performance metrics and identifying actionable insights using analytics on social media platforms
Strong communications skills with experience of working collaboratively with stakeholders
A video-savvy individual with a keen interest in emerging trends around video content on social media
What we offer
Starting salary of £30,000 - £35,000 pro-rata per annum depending on experience.

How the application process will work

The interview panel will be Frances Rougvie, Social Media Manager and Mark Frankel, Interim Head of Communications and Policy and Grace Rahman, News & Online Editor.
The process starts off with an anonymised covering letter and CV. This will be read by at least two people to produce a shortlist for interview.
The first round interviews will be a phone (not video) interview, lasting no more than half an hour, at a time that’s convenient for you. We will record it so at least two people can review each interview to decide who we invite back for the second round. The recordings will be deleted at the end of the process.
The second round will include a structured interview and a timed task which assumes no prior knowledge. The task can be completed prior to the interview, at a time that most suits you.
The interview will be with the full panel by video and last no more than an hour. We’ll tell you everything you need to know to prepare, including anything we’d recommend reading in advance.
